HOME STAGER

Home Stager (Part-time)
Location: San Francisco, CA

Are you an HGTV addict? Addicted to home decor catalogs? Always aiming for that perfect instagram #shelfie? If you’ve dreamed of working in interior design, our part-time role as a home stager at Batch might just be your dream job!

In this role you will be helping us transform unoccupied homes for-sale with a tasteful mix of furniture, floor coverings, lighting, art, decor, and plants.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

A day with Batch will take you to some of the coolest and most unique properties in the San Francisco Bay Area! Upon arrival (generally between 8:00 and 9:00am) we’ll be meeting our moving crew to direct them in where to unload furniture and bins. Once the truck is empty, we start unpacking our bins or product. The beds get made, the shelves get styled, the art is hung, the linens are steamed and the decorative pillows are thoughtfully placed. Throughout the day, we work together as a 4-person team (with the support of 2-4 movers) to get everything set up and looking first-rate. Sometimes this involves gathering empty bins to clear more space. Sometimes it involves taking out the trash, moving items from room to room or helping with a surface clean. The days are active so wear your comfortable shoes and don’t forget your mask!

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5 years of professional experience, preferably in interiors or a design-forward field. Past visual merchandising experience would be particularly valuable.

  • Punctuality and ability to self-direct.

  • Ability to be agile, operating with a sense of urgency, dealing with changes, and demonstrating flexibility in ambiguous situations with good judgment and confidence.

  • Great eye for design and style, with a strong awareness of current trends and ability to creatively solve install-related challenges.

  • Basic mounting skills such as hanging art on a picture hanger. Wall anchoring experience in drywall would be ideal.

  • Past experience with furniture assembly - reading instructions and going to town with an Allen wrench!

  • Willingness to lift up to 40 pounds, individually or as part of a team lift to relocate heavy/bulky furniture items.

  • Positive attitude towards tasks including vacuuming, steaming linens, and touching up walls… all part of making the magic.

  • Friendly and professional demeanor. Someone we can entrust to represent our company well in the event of unplanned client or customer visits.

  • Consent to background check and/or drug testing as requested.

COMPENSATION

  • $300 / day

  • Lunch provided each day

Batch is a shoppable home staging company that transforms homes for sale into immersive environments for new product discovery. We were founded in 2017 as an experiential retailer with showroom locations in Russian Hill and Hudson Yards. When we closed our storefronts in 2019 - a lucky pre-COVID decision that ultimately helped us survive the pandemic - we began focusing 100% on home staging. Hundreds of brands and artists have entrusted us to place their products or work in our network of staged residences. We’re growing organically and strong performers may be considered for additional responsibilities. While we are currently looking to add seasonal support to our small team, the potential to advance into full-time work exists.
