MEET COCO, VP SHOWCASE OPERATIONS AT BATCH!

by IT-Geeks

What is your background?

My background is rooted in media and advertising across traditional, digital and mobile platforms. I’ve been lucky to work with both start-ups and larger established companies, playing roles in marketing, PR and sales. I absolutely love building relationships with consumers and business partners and find the greatest fulfillment making them happy and successful.

What is your role at Batch?

I oversee Showcase Operations at Batch, working with real estate developers and real estate sales agencies creating Showcases in high-end residences, providing a shoppable model home for new buyers.

How did you get interested in interior design?

My mother was very artistic and always had impeccable style. She wasn’t formally trained, but had natural interior design instincts and often helped her friends style their homes as their “visual stylist”. I think a lot of her interest in design rubbed off on me.

What do you do for inspiration? How do you generate ideas and stay inspired?

From the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep I’m consuming design related content online, on Instagram and in magazines. I also spend a lot of time out in stores looking for inspiration. Always searching for new designers and artists to follow, I can’t get enough shop and browse time!

What qualities do you most admire in a room?

I love a room with a lot of patterns and textures, creating layers of visual interest. My motto is “More is More!”

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is a mix of relaxed bohemian and structured prep, with pops of statement jewelry.

What’s the most treasured item in your own home?

I’ve inherited some special vintage pieces from my parents and grandparents. The most treasured is a portrait of an old man in an antique gilt frame. The painting has become so dark over time you can barely see the image, but it’s so beautiful and mysterious.

What trend are you loving at the moment? What trend could you live without?

Right now I’m loving the mix of ethnic and modern styles, with some of the 70’s trends being revived like macramé wall decor and bold wallpaper prints.

At the same time, I could definitely live without some of the 70’s trends being revived!

What is your favorite thing about West Coast designs?

Coastal designs make me instantly happy and relaxed. The combination of lightness and subdued tones with a sprinkle of quirkiness take me to a wonderful place.

Which design blog, website, TV show, or magazine would you be lost without?

There are so many how do I choose?!

Lonny Magazine is a serious daily habit. Schumacher 1889 and One Kings Lane are always on, and I love the color inspiration from Kerri Rosenthal, Pencil Shavings and Madcap Cottage.
