LAST MINUTE THANKSGIVING PLANNING + CHECKLIST
The time has come; Thanksgiving is nearly here!
While you’re hard at work preparing the turkey, crimping the pie, and crafting a Fall inspired cocktail, we wanted to share a quick last minute planning list to keep you organized before the big day.
As the host or hostess, you already have a long list of to-do’s before the big day, and this last minute checklist goes over the small details that may have slipped your mind. After all, it’s the little things you miss that seem like mountains the day of, so we’re here to ensure that doesn’t happen!

Have you set your dining room table?
One of the best ways to save time the day of is to set your Thanksgiving table early! So get your placecards, linens and dishes together the day before so that way when it’s time to serve dinner, everyone knows where they are sitting and can just grab a plate and start eating.
Where are you putting the coats?
There’s nothing less chic than piles of coats spread out all around your home. Clear out a closet near your front door, or if you don’t have one, make space in your own closet. That way your guests can have a designated spot for their belongings, leaving your chairs and sofas free for relaxing.
Is your powder room prepped?
Get all your bathroom essentials together a few days before the big night. Stock up on toilet paper, make sure your towels are clean, include a scented candle, and make sure you have both hand soap and lotion for your guests.
Are you stocked on libations?
You want to make sure you have enough wine to last the entire night. Since you’ll be busy in the kitchen for much of the evening, have your spouse, friend or a relative on drink duty. That way you can focus on perfecting the food, and they can make sure every guest is refreshed and no glass is left empty!
Do you have ice?
This is one of those small details that always goes unnoticed before a big party. You can never have enough ice, so pick up a few packs before the big day. You’ll be surprised at how much you end up needing it the day of.
Is your fridge and freezer clean?
Trust us when we tell you that you’ll need a lot of space here! Make sure to organize both your fridge and freezer to make room for the food you’re cooking, whatever desserts guests bring that need to be chilled, and most importantly, for storing leftovers after the meal.
Is your dishwasher empty?
Clear out your dishwasher the night before so it’s clear and unloaded the day of. That way you’ll be able to fill it up quickly when the meal is over.
Are your knives sharpened?
The last thing you want is dull knives ruining your perfectly roasted turkey and slow you down! Sharpen your knives the day before to avoid slicing minced meat during dinner.
Is your pantry stocked?
Double check your pantry, and recipes, to make sure you have all the ingredients! There’s nothing worse than realizing you’re missing a handful of important ingredients halfway through cooking.
