HOW TO CREATE YOUR VERY OWN FALL INSPIRED WREATH AT HOME

Last weekend we hosted our very first Autumn inspired wreath making class at Batch with San Francisco based wreath maker, Maggie Philbin!

We invited 12 women in the Batch community to our showroom to mingle and craft beautiful wreaths for their homes just in time for the holiday season. We had so much fun learning how to style wreaths, that we wanted to share the inspiration with you so you too can try this DIY project at home!

Wreaths are quintessential for the holidays, and can be used in a variety of ways – like on top of your table with a candle as the centerpiece, or hanging on your front door, and given as a gift to a loved one.

What You Need

• Round metal wreath base

• Floral shears

• Lightweight floral wire

• Seasonal greenery and flowers

Recommended Fall Foliage & Flowers

• Eucalyptus

• Pumpkin Tree Bunches

• Mums

• Craspedia

• Crisp Green Leaves

• Hypericum

• Solidago

The Step-by-Step

1. Visit your local craft store or flower market to purchase a metal wreath base and seasonal foliage and flowers

2. Using a pair of floral shears, cut your foliage and flowers into 8” to 10” pieces

3. Once you finish cutting the stems, take your lightweight floral wire and wrap it around your metal base 5-7 times with half an inch of space in between every wrap

4. After you wrap your floral wire on your wire base, take 5-7 pieces of foliage and flowers together to create a small bunch in your left hand

5. Then with your right hand, use floral wire to secure the branches to the wreath base, making sure each bunch secured is balanced on the wreath

6. Continue steps four and five, overlapping each stem, and adding stems until the wreath base is fully covered
