Your undergarments need a little extra TLC to make them last. Most undergarments are fragile, and often made of delicate cotton, lace and silk.
While your delicates stay hidden under your favorite Little Black Dress and pair of jeans, they have the power to make you look and feel incredible. So making sure you’re storing, drying and washing them the right way is paramount to making them last.

For our Summer Batch, we partnered with Uwila Warrior to provide shoppers with undergarments that are not only comfortable, but also celebrate all women and their bodies. Uwila Warrior creates chic underwear that makes women feel confident with spirited colors, luxurious silk, delicate lace and lightweight moisture wicking fabric that stays cool and dry all day long.

Underwear this beautiful is worth taking care of, and we rounded up some tips and tricks from Uwila Warrior to keep your top drawer in pristine condition.

Wash by hand and with cold water...

Washing machines are too rough on your undergarments, causing them to pill, stretch and look worn. Hand washing is the only way to extend the lifespan of your delicates and keep the colors and fabrics looking its best. It’s best to wash with cold water to avoid any shrinkage or unraveling and to keep the integrity of the materials intact.

Gently ring them out and hang to dry…

Your lingerie simply needs a light, gentle touch to ring out all the excess water and soap. Since the material for undergarments are usually thin, they won’t absorb much water to be wrung out. Once all the water is squeezed out, hang dry your lingerie for the best results.

Line your drawers...

Properly storing your lingerie is important. It’s best to keep lingerie separate from the rest of your clothes, preferably in silk paper or other delicate fabric. If you keep your undergarments in a drawer, cover it with paper (or fabric) and line the bottom of the drawer to prevent the wood from pulling them.
