AN INSIDERS TOUR OF CASA MALCA
Tulum, a picturesque beach town located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico’s Yucatán peninsula, is not only a trendy destination for many travelers, but it’s also a place to experience an unforgettable adventure. The town’s beauty comes from its mixed landscape of jungle and beaches, that’s lined with breathtaking hotels, fashion-forward boutiques and world renowned restaurants.
While there are endless options of fabulous hotels to choose from for your vacation in Tulum, no other place matches the magical experience Casa Malca has to offer.
That’s because Casa Malca is not a hotel, it’s a summer home located in the heart of Tulum, known as South Beach Road, and hidden from the public.
At every turn, Casa Malca is a picture perfect estate that brings the best of art, nature and luxury to the stunning white beaches of Tulum.
Designed by Lio Malca, a New York gallerist and art dealer, the home is filled with contemporary art and eclectic furnishings. The estate was discovered after being empty for more than a decade, and was renovated consciously working around the natural environment and using its existing architecture.
With just 41 rooms, Casa Malca provides guests with a luxury getaway where they can take advantage of a private outdoor and indoor pool, two bars, three restaurants and a rooftop with a 360 degree view of the coast and jungle. Plus the locally made hammocks that hang between palms and wooden cabanas provide the ultimate spot to relax and enjoy an afternoon siesta.
Every room throughout the estate is individually designed, providing a different aesthetic and vibe. The common areas are filled with large vintage furniture, encouraging guests to take their shoes off, relax and get to know each other over cocktails. Alongside the rustic furniture and stylish accents, guests are greeted with artwork from well-known artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Kaws.
While the details throughout the property are stylish and carefully curated, it’s the stunning views of the jungle and beaches on view from the estate that make the experience memorable. You’ll find hammocks hanging between palms, tropical huts and cabanas lined up alongside the beach, and whimsical art and sculptures at every turn. The lush green jungle, beautiful clear blue water and sugar-like sand truly make Casa Malca an Instagrammer’s dream.
